About Me

I'm currently a scientist in residence at Quantum City at the University of Calgary. Previously I worked as a postdoc at the Institute for Quantum Computing at the University of Waterloo. I completed my Ph.D. at MIT under the supervision of professor Aram Harrow and an undergraduate degree in Math and Physics at McGill University.

My Research

I'm primarily interested in Quantum Computing and Quantum Information Theory. In particular, my research focuses on using ideas from math and computer science to better understand what is and isn't possible in a quantum mechanical universe. Some specific research areas I've worked on include nonlocal games, shallow circuits, and Hamiltonian complexity. Mathematically, some of the tools I use most come from representation theory, algebraic combinatorics, and non-commutative real algebraic geometry. For a more complete discussion of my research, you might want to check out my research statement.
